Hospitality by tradition

Hospitality has always been a hallmark of the Obermaier family. Since 1863, this historic, protected estate has been owned by the Obermaier family and has been passed down from generation to generation.

Over the decades, the former farmstead—which once included an inn and a butcher shop—has evolved into the Hotel Obermaier, featuring an inn and a beer garden. Together, our historic, traditional building and the modern main building embody what makes us who we are: tradition and modernity, personal hospitality, and a touch of the Bavarian way of life!

Today, Markus Obermaier and his wife Maria are the fifth generation to run the hotel. The family-like atmosphere and the joy of welcoming guests have remained the same throughout the years. Together with their dedicated team, they work every day to ensure that guests feel welcome and, in a way, right at home.

Welcome!

The Obermaier Family

For generations, the Obermaier has been our home—and a home for our guests. Today, Markus and Maria Obermaier are the fifth generation to run the hotel, blending our establishment’s long history with the modern hotel of today. With Nico and Leonie, the next generation is already part of the family business and is helping to shape the future of the Obermaier.

What has united us throughout all these years is the joy of welcoming people, the personal connection with our guests, and our deep attachment to our hotel and our home region.

Trudering has been our home for generations. Here, in the quiet, historic town center in eastern Munich, our family has put down roots, and this is where the Hotel Obermaier has grown.

Our neighborhood has a charm all its own: it’s where the city meets the countryside. Small shops, restaurants, and everything you need for daily life are right nearby. And thanks to the subway and commuter rail, Munich’s downtown and the trade fair grounds are quick and easy to reach.

A little piece of home—right in the heart of Munich.

At Home in Trudering

Our historic property in the heart of Trudering has been in the Obermaier family since 1863. What began as a farm has evolved over five generations into the hotel we are today—rooted in tradition, personal, and yet always evolving.

One thing has remained constant over the years: genuine hospitality, passed down from generation to generation.
