By public transport, you can quickly get to the heart of the action: Marienplatz. Get an overview – and if you're lucky, a view of the Alps – from the Tower of Old Peter. After the ascent and descent, the Viktualienmarkt will compensate you with its delicacies. Treat yourself to a Leberkässemmel or pack your picnic basket for a break in the English Garden or in one of the many wonderfully located beer gardens. For art lovers, meanwhile, the Alte and Neue Pinakothek plus numerous exhibitions await, while shopping queens feel at home in the pedestrian zone and the exquisite Maximiliansstraße. You can also discover modern Munich in Schwabing, Haidhausen or Giesing, always traditional and with a certain touch. For car enthusiasts of all ages, the Olympic Park is also home to BMW Welt, a combination of exhibitions, museum, events and guided tours. Here, fans can learn everything about the legendary Bavarian car brand, and you can hardly get enough of the architecture of the complex with the impressive four-cylinder building...
