Munich, the state capital in the heart of Bavaria
The city with a heart and the northernmost city in Italy... We at Hotel Obermaier wholeheartedly agree! To explore the charm and beauty of Munich, we would like to suggest a small walking tour. By public transport, you can quickly get to the heart of the action: Marienplatz. Get an overview – and if you're lucky, a view of the Alps – from the Tower of Old Peter. After the ascent and descent, the Viktualienmarkt will compensate you with its delicacies. Treat yourself to a Leberkässemmel or pack your picnic basket for a break in the English Garden or in one of the many wonderfully located beer gardens. For art lovers, meanwhile, the Alte and Neue Pinakothek plus numerous exhibitions await, while shopping queens feel at home in the pedestrian zone and the exquisite Maximiliansstraße. You can also discover modern Munich in Schwabing, Haidhausen or Giesing, always traditional and with a certain touch. If you still have time and leisure in the evening, we recommend the diverse cultural programme: From the Residenztheater to small, trendy concerts – Munich is also a cosmopolitan city here.
Allianz Arena and FC Bayern
Who doesn't know the futuristic football stadium, which is even more fascinating, especially at night and illuminated? Real FC Bayern fans will also get their money's worth here when no game is taking place. There are various individual and group tours where you can immerse yourself in the FC Bayern World of Experience. Fun for the little ones awaits in the free play world with climbing wall and adventure park, including supervision by qualified staff. You can get a quick refreshment in between in the Arena Bistro and a huge selection of red and white fan merchandise awaits you in the FC Bayern Store. With 3,000 m² of exhibition space, the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt is the largest club museum in Germany...
BMW Welt and the Olympic Park
The Olympic Park was created on the occasion of the 1972 Olympic Games and impresses not only with beautiful green spaces, but also with a huge range of leisure, sports and cultural activities. The brave dare a guided tour to the legendary tent roof, there are sightseeing tours through the stadium, to the Olympic Tower (with rock museum) and last but not least you can also take a relaxing walk through the extensive park.
For car enthusiasts of all ages, the Olympic Park is also home to BMW Welt, a combination of exhibitions, museum, events and guided tours. Here, fans can learn everything about the legendary Bavarian car brand, and you can hardly get enough of the architecture of the complex with the impressive four-cylinder building...
